ABC Countdown to Summer - Upcoming Week Reminder
Next week, we have some exciting themes for our ABC Countdown to Summer! Here's what's coming up:
H – Hat Day (May 6th): Wear your favorite hat to school!
I – Inside-Out Day (May 7th): Turn your clothes inside out for a fun twist!
J – Joke Day (May 8th): Share your best joke with the class and make everyone smile!
K – King Day (May 9th): Boys go first! Dress like royalty for the day!
L – Lollipop Day (May 10th): Everyone will get a lollipop to enjoy as a special treat!
We can’t wait to see the students' creativity and excitement for these fun days!


Calling all families with children entering Kindergarten in the 2025–2026 school year!
Make sure your student is ready for school this fall by taking them to the Walk-In Clinic for Kindergarten Immunizations at Sangamon County department of Public health! If you can't make this opportunity please make sure to schedule a back to school physical for your student with your primary care physician.

Parents we have completed the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) for all students in grades 3-5. We are so proud of our students and families for getting our kids to school every day on time!! We are excited to share your children with you and we know that they are giving it their very best!! Thank you again parents for being rock stars!!!

Parents, this week we are gearing up for IAR Testing with our student retreat. Today we wear ALL black for IAR. There activities are only for students in grades 3-5 that are preparing for testing. Testing will begin next Monday March 31st and will culminate April 11th. We are asking that ALL students are present every single day of testing. Please ensure that our students are going to bed early, having a healthy breakfast and know the importance of tests such as this. Matheny family, let's do our best on the test!!!

PROJECT SCOPE: As you know District 186 regular calendar students do not return to school until Tuesday, January 7 (Balanced Calendar students return January 14th). However, our SCOPE program for SCOPE students will still be in operation as scheduled for Monday, January 6, but run condensed hours and locations:
